Michelle Smith

I am a qualified equine assisted psychotherapist who specialises in working with young people. My horses enjoy spending time with my clients for some mindfulness grooming, allowing time and space to reflect and exploring thoughts and feelings in a non judgemental approach (anxiety, depression, stress). I gained my level 5 diploma with LEAP Jan 2019 and have been working with clients on their wellbeing and mental health. On top of my psychology degree, teacher qualifications and currently working towards a post graduate diploma in counselling children and young people (completing July 2020). I have had 20 years of experience working with children and young people and a vast amount of experience working with SEN / SEMH children and young people. I have been senior management within education and care settings, a head teacher at a complex needs school and am now venturing on a new challenge to combine my passion and my experience. I am very passionate about the therapy that I can provide and welcome being able to share my skills.
